Luek you're too attached!

So we got some new news a couple days ago.

On my 14th day in the hospital they do something called a bone marrow biopsy. Which is when they put this needle in my hip bone through my back to pull out bone marrow. It is so not pleasant but it's really fast and not terrible. The worst part is when they pull bone out. Sometimes you can feel a pain all the way down your leg! But again, it's super fast. It really only takes about 10 minutes and about 10 seconds of pain.

So the results of that came back and showed that I still have quite a bit of leukemia cells in my body. This isn't necessarily bad news. 1 out of 3 people who get treated for leukemia need to have a second round of chemo. They warned us about this and that it just means that my body didn't metabolize the chemo as much as it was supposed to.

Hopefully this last round will be it though! This means an extra couple weeks in the hospital. And then when I get out I may need to go back for additional chemo treatments but the goal is to leave the hospital in remission!

This chemo is a little different. It lasts 5 days instead of my other chemo which lasted 7 days. And the other chemo was 7 straight days of chemo, this one is a 5 day combination of  two different chemos that run at different times throughout the day. It seemed to make me a little tired today and it may be a little more aggressive than the first 7 days.

It has only made me tired so far. It also makes me lose my sense of smell and it makes my mouth taste kind of like I never brush my teeth. But that's so minor! I can handle that. I know my smell will be back when it's over.

Let's just hope I don't ever smell bad and can't tell lol!
